Brooks Williams Returns to Bellows Falls
BELLOWS FALLS – Popular Guitarist singer/songwriter Brooks Williams will return to Bellows Falls to unveil his exciting new album at a special appearance at Boccelli’s on the Canal on Saturday, March 6, presented by Vermont Festivals LLC.
A master of blues Americana, Williams delivers the deepest and most intense interpretations of everything from early blues songs to his recent original compositions on Baby O!, his 17th album.
“Brooks Williams is rated one of the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists of all-time, in company with the likes of Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges, Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, and David Bromberg,” Ray Massucco, producer, said. “He will be at Boccelli's in support of his brand new album, "Baby O!”
A 23-year veteran of the road and living the trans-Atlantic life between Cambridge (UK) and Boston (US), on Baby O! Williams sings about a forgotten New Orleans guitarist, a Mississippi tragedy, the ache of long-distance love, staying true in the face of adversity, and not giving up on love.
Williams’ voice floats over foot-stomping grooves, rollicking acoustic guitar riffs and stinging resonator slide lines supported by bass, steel, and harmonica.
Produced by Williams and engineered by Andy Bell (Seasick Steve), “Baby O!” is his most immediate and compelling roots record to date. The music that traveled across the ocean from the US to the UK on scratchy records and static-laden radio signals in the 1950s and early 1960s, then traveled back across to the US via records, singers and guitarists from the UK in the late 1960s and 1970s, continues its journey back and forth in the on-going singing of a timeless song.
“Called ‘the guitar whisperer’ by the Boston Globe, Brooks is a master of his powerful acoustic and resonator slide guitars,” Massucco said.
